Girls Who Kick - Manchester 2019
On Sunday 29th September 2019, a group of female students from Leeds went over to Manchester to train with the girls who kick team.
The session was conducted by Miss Carly Wilson, Mrs Patricia Gray and Miss Zorica Bowie, all 5th degrees with ITF England.
The session started with a minute silence to remember GM Sheena Sutherland, who recently passed away and was one of the pioneers of TKD in Scotland.
The session started with some warm up routines and games to get all the student to interact and get to know each other. After going over some basic movements, the guys then moved into the pattern section of the day.
The focus of the pattern session was to try to get the girls to be a little more relaxed in their patterns and perform movements with power, developed with speed.
After the pattern session, the guys moved into a session of shield work where they focused on movement that could be used in free sparring situations. This section proved to be the most informative and fun for the students.
The session finished with a question and answer session followed by the traditional team photos.
Well done to Emma, Rebecca, Conchi, Holly and Cat for attending and also a big thank to Mr Miley for hosting the event in Manchester. A good time was had by all.
