T-UK Leeds Student Of The Year 2024

At the end of each year, we put our heads together and discuss who we think should be presented with the T-UK Student of the Year plaque. Due to an increase in numbers, this is the first year we have decided to do adult and junior student awards.

Student of the year isn’t always related to who the best martial artist is in the club. It is however been based on how consistently a student trains and also the effort they have put into their training. As always, we all put names forward and then agree on the winner. This year, the guys put forwards were pretty much mentioned by all of us.

Adult student of the year was Megan Bostock who trains as much as anyone in the club but has made a real effort in 2023 to conquer some personal fears in terms of sparring and tournaments. Megan has also help me in classes where assistants haven’t been able to make it and all her efforts have really been appreciated.

Junior student of the year was presented to Idrees Akhtar. Idrees hasn’t found the basics easy when he first started with us but he has persevered and is now making great strides. His confidence is growing and he is a really nice and liked member of the club. Also np-one hits a shield as hard as he does.

Both plaques were well deserved and we pass our congratulations onto both. Well done guys.
