Coloured Belt Grading 9th December 2018

The 9th December 2018 was a special day.

This was the day that T-UK Leeds student travelled across to Stockport to take their final grading of the year with students from both Stockport and Chester.

Present at the grading were Miss Jayne Heywood, instructor of Stockport and Mr Jon Emm, instructor of Chester. Katherine Shuler, assistant from Chester and Emma Ridley, assistant from Leeds were also in attendance. Demonstrating the techniques required for the younger students was Toby Walker from Stockport.

The grading included all the required level row work and technical kicking as well as patterns, fixed and free sparring. The more senior students were also examined on their breaking. All in all it was a very good day and we had some excellent performances from the T-UK Leeds students.

Gradings are obviously relatively common in T-UK but what was slightly different about this one and something that made the day quite special was it was the first time in T-UK’s history that a coloured belt grading was conducted in front of two Masters.

A very enjoyable day for all involved and one that made a little piece of history at the same time.

Well done and thanks to all involved
