Student Of The Year 2018
Thursday 20th December saw the last training session of the year as everyone started to wind down for the Christmas break. The last session of the year is always a fun event with a relay style warm up and shield work followed by group pattern work and some high and long jump events.
A couple of the team were absent due to illness but nevertheless it was a good turnout to finish the year off in style.
As the class finished, it was time to present the T-UK Leeds student of the year.
The 2018 student of the year is not necessarily the most natural martial artist and is probably not the best practitioner in the group. They have however thrown everything into training in 2018 and entered her first tournament, coming away with medals in both divisions.
I asked the assistants for their nominees and Maddy’s name was top of the list with everyone. It was therefore with pride that T-UK Leeds announced that the student of the year 2018 is Madeline Lawrence-Jones.
Well done Maddy.
